It's really important to point out that a lot of the content on this site are not our original ideas (we have cited sources where applicable). They are drawn from a lot of great resources on the web, readings we've done, people and things we've listened to, our own experiences, and our fantastic community of friends, activists and thought partners.

This site is not complete - it never will be. There will always be ways to improve, change, and add content and ideas. As we always encourage others, we ourselves are also constantly listening and learning. We know there will be many ways to make this site more helpful for others. Note: Many aspects of Black culture have informed and influenced me from a very young age, as I grew up in the close company of Black communities. However, as a non-Black person of color, I have also spent considerable time examining my own use of black lexicon in regards to the privilege I have, and the way that black culture is routinely appropriated by white mainstream culture.
